love of travel

i am so grateful to have had the chance to take this trip. it was so uplifting for all of uss. i feel like every time we get together we just grow closer and closer in such an enriching way. and i must say, there are few things better in this world than sitting in a car on a long beautiful drive just looking out the window and listening to songs that are so beautiful they break your heart. there were so many times on this trip where i stopped and thought to myself " what a wonderful time, i am just happy... perfectly happy here."
i can tell, now more than ever, that i really needed this trip too. i can feel my passions for art, travel, love, spirituality, and just life burning again so strongly. what a sad situation i was letting myseft get into before. i am in this amazing place with wonderful friends as house-mates and there is so much around me to take advantage of. but slowly i let myself sink into comlacency, what a fool! what was i thinking when eating macdonald's in front of the tv when i can make a cup of tea and some toast and start a new book! or paint, or play guitar. why is it so easy to forget about the things that truly make us happy? why do we think "oh i will write them a letter tomorrow" or "i will make things better tomorrow" the only way i think that change can be truly initiated is in the now. "live in the now!!" -wayne's world. if you have wanted to read more and be on the internet less then you have to stop right now and go pick up a book. that is the only way to fight staleness. i think that is why the bile says not to let the sun go down on your anger. things start to become harder and harder to do the instant you put it off. wow i need to remember all of this.
so anyways, to sum it all up, this trip went beyond our greatest expectations. we grew in love and beauty. i have gained endlessly from this time in my life.

our trip was amazing. i was looking forward to it so much, but i didn't imagine it would be as great as it was. it just felt good, it was perfect. not just because of all the cool stuff we did or because of the incredible concert, but it was the feelings we all experienced from being together. i am so grateful for my friends. so if you are reading this: i love you. not only matty, derek, and nate. but all of you. you know who you are. our family living in different cities, and now different states. we have an amazing bond that just keeps growing deeper. it is the gift(apart from salvation) that i am most thankful for.

also, to derek: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
love, amber
