songbyrd art group: the beginings

ok so if you are reading this then we talked and you are an important part of the dreams we all share. so i wanted to open this up for us all to post ideas and comments about getting this thing started. i do want us all to meet in person but until then this will work and will help in getting the little things figured out so that when we do meet we can spend more time laughing and loving.
josh t. and i have been talking about hosting the first gathering in ventura. we are in the process of finding the right spot. amber is kind of taking up the secretarial role in this (thank God!) and she will be figuring out a lot of the practical stuff as well as researching other attemts at things like we are doing and what kind of problems others have run into.
ok so let me give a very general over view of my vision for songbyrd art group and what i want this to be: we will gather at least once every three months. at these gatherings we will feature artists from as many different mediums as we can get (music, painting, writing, video etc.) you can only get into these gatherings with an invitation that will be a bit difficult getting ahold of (i will explain more about this at some other time). there will be a charge at the door which will slowly get bigger in order to create a progression of each gathering. There will also be a limited number of invitations and the recipients will be selected by ourselves.
our main goal in this is basically to experience and appreciate eachother art on a comfortable and honest level. it will thrive on networking with friends and loved ones. this is not a show or a spectacle that we are putting on for people. this is a family of artists and these gatherings are for eachother. it will rely completely on your own personal commitment to songbyrd art group and will only grow through your efforts. i want to appologize ahead of time if i seem a bit tyranical and controlling about this whole thing but i need to be at least for the first phase of this so that i can express my vision because it is very specific and i know exactly how i want this to look and feel and live. so here you are now, please start dreaming and let me know all of your ideas. and first thing we need to do is try and set up a date to all get together and start talking about this. i am so excited! this is going to be beautifu l and it am ready to let this fly.
