a day in life

so i just set up my new tent in my room!!!!! yayyyyy!! it was so cool because i let ewan hang out while i did it and his fascination kept growing as i would slowly make it turn from a blanket size pile, to a rad little two man tent! he loved it in there!! i opened my door and josh and nadia came in and the first thing josh did was jump in with us. i don't know what it is about being a guy that gets us so excited about stuff like that. it felt like being a kid again and building a fort out of couch cusions and blankets! so you may be asking yourself right now why i set my tent up in my room... because i am going to sleep in it tonight!!! that is another thing that is funny, why am i so excited about sleeping in a tent, inside my room? i don't know, i just am. when josh and evan and isaac and i were at simpson we had this joke about four room mates who were such loosers that they spent every second of the day in their room and after a while it made them kind of crazy. the dorm kind of became their whole world and so they would say stuff to eachother, in really depressed mono-tone voices, like "hey.... ummm.... i think i might stop by the sink on the way to my desk tonight..... do you want me to pick up anything for you" and the other one would reply " well.... i don't really have anything to do right now so why don't i come with you" and i can totally imagine one of them setting up a tent in the dorm and saying "hey, i am going camping this weekend, it's going to be a blast, do you think you would be able to free up your schedule and make time to go?" and the other one would say "well me and the other guy were going to hang out by the bed but i can see if he wants to just do that instead"
so things with work are going really well. i am basically getting three different promotions, one is becoming a shift supervisor, (hahahah that's funny, i just accidentally wrote "shit supervisor"....hahaha.... i don't know why that is so funny to me but i had to stop for a second and write it down so that anyone who would appreciate it would be able to have a chuckle or two. that makes me think of when matt and i would go out wood cutting for the winter with our dads. we always went to this place in the forest that had what must have been a sewage treatment plant. it had these huge pools with a bunch of poop in then and this big arm would go through all of it like it was stirring it or something. i think we called it the poop plant, or the poop factory or something. the whole area smelled like poo-fart and i bet the guy that ran that place was called the shit supervisor! i am sure that the CSD looked far and wide (in sugarloaf) to find such a man for this position too. they probably had to find some crazy man in his basement with his home-made meth lab and tell him that he was going to have a special job at a secret chocolate facory in the woods. so anyways, matt and i, being the woodsie guys we are, couldn't help but neglect our duties as men to help gather fire wood to warm our hearth and home during the winter cold. instead we would sit for hours and throw stuff over the fence into these huge diareah turd pools.... that's it.... for hours we would run around frantically looking for rocks, sticks, animals...whatever, trying to find the one heaven-sent object that would be perfect for throwing at shit! it was like we both knew that there was one and we had to find it or we would die! i can't imagine how pissed that must have made the shit supervisor to find all this crap in his beloved chocolate! of course this is what we would do when we weren't in matt's room listening to
deep breakfast and drawing pictures of waterfalls.) the second one would be the stores coffee specialist. i am probably most excited about this one because there is only one specialist per store. you get to go though this really extensive training and then when you are done you will know everything in the world! you get to wear a black apron too! and the third promotion will come last and after the most training, that is the assistant supervisor. this one will be good because of the pay and that is probably the only reason i am doing that one, because i am a cheap sell out now that i am not in norpain anymore and i will work for any major corporation just to whore myself out for a little bling! so needless to say, work has been crazy lately. it is cool though, i can boss people around now and they will totally listen to me. i have had one other job where i got to boss people around but nobody listened to me, that was back when i did paintball. now that i think of it though, i probably wouldn't listen to me back then either. so this is what happened when i just sat down and started typing, interesting. ok i am going to go play halo 2 now! bye

i read the whole thing and i laughed so hard i cried. the image of you and matt throwing stuff into the crap pool while scott and bob are being manly is priceless. i'll pass on the tongue kiss though. my husband would frown upon it.

i'm at my desk laughing out loud! the thought of you and matt listening to deep breakfast drawing waterfalls brings joyful tears to my eyes. and what was it about deep breakfast? it had that weird, indescribable allure for me to. i remember thinking it was soooo good. and tongue kiss? count me in.

holyshit, you can't do that to me. i am sitting in the public library crying i am laughing so hard. the crazy homeless guy next to me, who talks to himself every few minutes, is even giving me a strange look. good times. we'll see about the tongue kiss.

that IS funny! remembering those dorm room characters reminded me of sitting outside the cafeteria doing the characters where evan would slowly slide down in his chair until he was under the table, and Derek would sit there and do his "mmmmmm...okay" voice and face while saying random stuff with his head down, and i don't remember what i would do. but the story about the shit is funny too. i was probably playing shoots and ladders with brianna or something at the time.

congrats on your promotions derek. still sick of hearing about halo 2 though, STILL can't afford it.
