autumn equinox

woke up at like noon because practice last night was a time of life too good to waste on sleep. you know that the man who invented peanut butter was black? you know that his name was George Washington Carver? do you also know that he lived most of his life on three hours of sleep a day with only a few ten minute naps? we are getting ready for we barbarians' first show ever and i would love to see you guys there. i am super excited and for the first time in a while im doing something that i believe in with all my heart.

it's getting to be that time of year when all i can do is dream of colder weather and being places like seattle or portland or half moon bay. i make play lists that have band of horses and radiohead and m. ward and beruit and sigur ros, stuff like that on it. september 22nd is the day, first day of fall. it is marked by the autumn equinox which is when... well i think my old comrade wikipedia might be able to describe it best:
An equinox in astronomy is the event when the Sun can be observed to be directly above the Earth's equator, occurring around March 20 and September 22 each year. On these dates, night and day are nearly of the same length and the Sun crosses the celestial equator (i.e., declination 0). More technically, the equinox happens when the Sun is at one of two opposite points on the celestial sphere where the celestial equator and ecliptic intersect. In a wider sense, the equinoxes are the two days each year when the center of the Sun spends an equal amount of time above and below the horizon at every location on Earth. The word equinox derives from the Latin words aequus (equal) and nox (night).

i think i am going to have a celebration.

does any feel down for making a trip up to bridge school this year? you know it is happening on the exact day of my birthday. just gonna throw that out there and shyly kick it around for oh... maybe the next few weeks. kidding. but i serisously miss all of you so much. this would be a great reunion trip. rosie? nate? i know you might read this... what do you say?

I will look at the dates and see how they coincide with school I fear, though, Nursing School does not look kindly at, well anything, during the semester. But I will try.
