The National at The Wiltern

last night's show was pretty freaking good. i can't imagine what that must feel like to sell out two nights at the wiltern. because they had three extra violin/piano, trumpet and trombone players, they were able to play everything spot on and even added a little extra to a few songs. of all the songs that i really wanted to hear (abel, mr. november, secret meeting, fake empire, bloodbuzz ohio) the only one i didn't get to hear was secret meeting. apparently they never play it live. they had a simple set up but i'll be damned if there wasn't at least one guitar change for every song! it paid off though and the sound was incredible. i need to do this kind of stuff more often. hi ho
