Urban Farming Gosh Dammit!

friends, this is how and where it all starts! rooftop farming is going crazy in brooklyn right now. how is it that somewhere with as little free and good land as brooklyn has small farms literally sprouting up everywhere and we here in california just seem to be sitting in the sun!? this is one of the major differences i notice between us and them, not necessarily productivity, but the quality of productivity. what are we really doing with our lives? how are we utilizing the everyday spaces and resources around us? are we even thinking about life in this way? i know that for myself, california just seems to have it all and i truly believe that it does. i love it here but i also fear that sometimes i have the mentality that this is the center of the universe. i fear for the temptation i feel being here to make decisions based on the comfort rather than the quality.
