i am so glad! i was so worried that our country was about to be run by a yuppie! i must say it is hard living in california because you tend to see way more kerry supporters. what was even worse is how hotly they all showed their hate for bush and made it some kind of weird trendy thing. it was weird to get funny looks from people at work when said that i back bush. they looked at me like "i cant believe you just said that out loud and aren't embarrassed" it is kind of odd. i just hope that people (from any party) can act in a civil manner now that we know who our leader is going to be for another four years. maybe jack-ass moore is not going to make any more "documentaries" now that he doesn't have democrats shoveling money at him. i must say i had lost a lot of hope in our generation because of how easily they were swayed by media propaganda. "mtv" made it very easy for a lot of twenty somethings to get really pissed off and opinionated about politics when their basis for opinion was from song lyrics or movies like moore's. there is nothing more dangerous than a big group of angry, ignorant people. well i take that back, there are a lot of things more dangerous than that, like educated and angry people.... or dragons....., or an army of trike dikes.....or voldemort.... anyways, you get my point. i acctually take that back and would now, say the opposite. i just read that only 10 percent of the 18-24 year old voters turned up! are you kidding me! of all those people that were so cool and politcal, hating bush and seeming so heart broken over the war and our environment, only ten percent of them had the responsibility behind their passion to acctually do something about it? wow i must say that i was very, very wrong in my feelings of intimidation from the opposing side. i have to say, for some of you that i am sure will want to challenge me on this, that i am not totally educated myself i admit, but i am very cautious about where i do get my information from. someone to respect in that area is amber. she has amazed me at how passionate she is about really knowing what she believes and learning about it herself. not going to blockbuster and renting one whole night's worth of political views. cheers to you amber!

who is dan???
ya dan! who are you!? we dont take kindly to strangers roun' these parts. dont come 'round here no more!
derek, this is tim. you should be careful with the accusations that you throw out. shauna and i spent an abnormal amount of time studying and researching this election, shauna studying political science now, and spending time volunteering for causes we deemed important. it beacame a spiritual burden, and much prayer and deliberation went into deciding who would best effect our future. after alot of reading, and much debating, we found Kerry to be a sound choice, a more honest choice, and a more practical. it actually had nothing to do with mtv, michael moore or the current trend of our society. derek, ignorance is a heavy word.
michael moore is a dumbass. anyone who has spent any time researching him can tell you that. but, after fact cheking both his books, and recent films, it's amazing how much truth is displyed. is it opinionated, yes. is it left wing biased, yes. but if you take the time to watch, listen, and investigate, it is relevant and very, very important. horrible horrible things are happening right now.
the problem is that most people, on both sides, make there decisions without thinking them through to the end result. what are the long term rammifications of what i'm supporting?
everyone should be careful, espeacially those that carry the name of Christ with what we say, who we accuse, and what we support.
