is it weird that i am spending so much time(all morning) downloading the harry potter audio books onto my ipod? i could have gone running and re-energized my body. i could have gone to a coffee shop and figured out a food budget so that i can live off of the fifty dollars i have for the next two weeks. i have to work in an hour. i did spend a good amount of time reading the bible this morning and that makes me feel productive because i was really into it and it caused me to think a lot about moses and how he wrote and i felt like it was easy to digest and search for meaning when usually i feel like reading scripture is painfully dry and feels sometimes like trying to push your hand through a stone. i do get really frustrated and weirded out though when moses talks about giants walking around during the time of noah and the sons of God mating with the daughters of men.
had a good time in big bear this weekend with a few friends. went out on the boat a lot. caught a few fish, watched a few sunsets, played some el presidente, woke up to a thunderstorm and the smell of crisp, cold, wet soil, and found out what my strengths are via donald o. clifton, ph.d. it is good to get away but i feel that every time i do, it only makes me hate the city even more. i know that in a few days, after a few long shifts at work, i will have forgotten exactly how amazing it feels to wake up to thunderstorms in the mountains. i will grow away from it. this is a constant struggle that i cannot seem to figure out or overcome. the balance between responsibility and school and work, and the desire to be closer to nature and further away from so many damn people and traffic and smog and littered everything.
i saw the dark night and it is the best! it was so well done. it was genius! i want to see it five million more times. i saw hellboy the next night and it was the cheesiest shit i've seen in a long time. i walked out and i won't ever see it again.
i seem to be missing my friends more than ever. my old friends. my good old friends. the ones who know me and love me still. they all seem to be further away than ever now.
i can't wait to see rosie graduate and hang out with her and nate.
time for work.

I dreamed of it, I hoped it, but I wasn't puttin the farm on it. This would be AWESOME friend, that made the rest of my day, especially after reading about rain in the mountains and how jealous that made me feel.
you should ride with us to vegas! it would be a fun road trip!
also: downloading harry potter onto your ipod is only wonderful. which narrator is it? if it isn't stephen fry let me know because i have all of those ones and those are the good ones. the jim dale versions aren't as good.
